Custom Install

To function correctly, Eeny requires certain Slack permissions. Some are mandatory for basic use, and others are only needed when using specific features. You can select the permissions based on the features you choose to enable.

Required

The following permissions are essential for Eeny.io to function properly within Slack. Without them, the core features of the app may not work as expected.

Allows Eeny to detect messages where it's mentioned (in channels it's added to).

Allows Eeny to reply to messages directed to it.

Optional

Picking from public channels. Allows Eeny to view public channels and see who is in them for selecting participants.

Picking from private channels. Allows Eeny to view private channels and see who is in them for selecting participants.

Allows Eeny to display users' names by reading basic user information. Some features, like statistics and shuffle, involve multiple users in a message. Instead of notifying every mentioned user, Eeny uses display names to improve the experience by reducing unnecessary notifications.
